Red Storm Basketball Tryouts – 2027 Season

Tryouts for the 2027 Red Storm Basketball season will be held on September 19-20, 2026, at Team Sportsplex in Baton Rouge.

  • All age groups (4th–11th grade) will participate in tryouts on Saturday, September 19.

  • Make-up and callback tryouts will take place on Sunday, September 20.


Team Formation

For the 2027 season, Red Storm plans to field teams in grades 4 through 11, with the possibility of multiple teams per age group, depending on talent and registration numbers.

During tryouts, players will be evaluated across several skill and athletic performance areas to assess both strengths and development needs. Our coaching staff will build rosters based on performance, positional needs, and team dynamics.

Why We’ve Moved Tryouts Earlier

As our program continues to grow, we’ve adjusted our tryout schedule to better align with school sports calendars and ensure efficient roster management.
Holding tryouts earlier allows us to:

  • Avoid scheduling conflicts with school teams

  • Finalize rosters well in advance of the season

  • Fill any open roster spots due to post-tryout injuries or withdrawals


2027 Season Overview

Practice Schedule:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning in March and continuing through each team’s final tournament.

Tournament Schedule:

  • 8 total tournaments per team

  • Mix of local and out-of-state tournaments depending on team age and skill level

  • All teams will participate in one out-of-state program-wide tournament during the season


Tuition & Payment Information

Total Season Tuition: $2,950 per player
This all-inclusive fee covers participation in the full Red Storm season. There are no additional registration or uniform costs.

What’s Included:

  • All tournament entry fees

  • Practice gear and uniforms (fitting and ordering managed by Red Storm)

  • Coaching salaries

  • Administrative and operational expenses

  • Coaches’ travel and per diem costs

  • Tournament roster fees

  • Miscellaneous supplies and subscriptions

What’s Not Included:

  • Travel, lodging, and meals for out-of-state tournaments

  • Spectator admissions at tournaments

Payment Schedule:

  • $950 non-refundable deposit is due upon accepting a roster spot

  • The remaining balance of $2,000 is due January 15, 2027

  • A valid credit card must be kept on file; payments will be automatically drafted on the due date

Please note: Deposits are non-refundable unless a season-ending injury occurs (must be verified by a physician). Accepting a roster spot means another player is not selected—please consider this commitment carefully.

Preliminary tournament schedules for each age group can be found in the tryout information section below. These are subject to change and based on available events as of September 19, 2026. Final schedules will be determined post-tryouts based on team needs and tournament availability.
